Clorox Company® introduces Green Works™ to the world

greenworks.jpg

Clorox® has been around for centuries and has become a household name through its products, one popular product being their brand of bleach.  But, with bleach being one of the earth’s harming chemicals because it contains CL (chlorine).  Chlorine isn’t as harmful to the earth as the bleach with the chlorine in it is.  Read more about this here

With Clorox® being one of the main companies behind distributing CL containing bleach, they have also been one of the main companies shunned by many environmentalists.  With Clorox’s® new brand of “natural” cleaning product they are hoping to change their image in the eyes of naturalist everywhere.

The Green Works™ line ad states they are a proud supporter of the Sierra Club and are now on the bandwagon to helping save the environment, as well as protect and preserve it too.

There are a few skeptics that think Clorox® is just trying their hand in grabbing onto the consumers in order to boost sales.  They still continue to carry their CL containing bleach, but yet have better cleaning products that are supposed to be green.  It’s a confusing mess for Clorox® to be leaning toward both directions.  Maybe Clorox® will go greener with all of their products in the near future.  What do you think?

Still need a sweater this time of year…make it a greener one

916870_old_photo.jpg

Even though summer is right around the corner, you still need a sweater right now when you step outside from time to time.  The sun has been peeking its head out slowly, but it’s still light sweater weather and for that you will need an eco-friendly sweater option.

There are so many different types of sweaters to choose from in this world, but the ones that are best are the ones that don’t cause additional harm on the environment.  Here are a few that can make that sweater option come with no guilt.

1.  Organic Wool Sweaters:  These sweater options come from sheep that grazed on pesticide-free land and are ultra cozy.  Try a sweater from Brook There.

2.  Organic Cotton Sweaters:  Sweaters that are made from organic cotton, you just can’t go wrong with, even ones that are made by hand as well.  The hand-made sweaters made of organic cotton can help support the makers and the co-ops of fair trade where they work as well.  Try sweaters by Indigenous Designs.

3.  Recycled Cashmere Sweaters:  These sweaters are awesome.  Cashmere is one of the finest materials on the planet earth and recycling it into something new is above and beyond wonderful.  Try sweaters by E Ko Logic’s. Or try sweaters by Margaret O’Leary that have been made of recycled cotton t-shirts.

A greener approach to weight loss

1003021_teenage_girl_on_scale.jpg

We have all been there, those last few pounds that just don’t seem to want to come off. Why not take a greener approach to losing those last few pounds or any weight at all for that matter. With a greener way of looking at weight loss you can cut pounds can calories as well as money too. Here are a few steps to looking at your weight loss in a green way.

1. Drink a lot of water:

Filtered water is best, but even water from the tap can help keep you weight loss green. Cut up a few slices of organic oranges, limes, or even lemons or grapefruit is a great way to put a bit of taste into the water as well. Write your current weight down and then divide by 2 and drink that much water in ounces a day. That is a great way to ensure you are getting plenty of water. Even if you can’t drink that much water in a day, just trying to is start enough. If you exercise your body will want the water.

2. Only eat one item:

If you only eat one item for a meal then you are less likely to over eat. Pick a good choice that is not only natural and nutritious but also organic as well. Eat an apple for lunch or an orange for breakfast. Steamed organic new potatoes, or carrots is a great way to start when it comes to dinner and once you get in the routine it will be easier and easier to maintain. 3. Eat less: If you eat less you end up buying less. Eat your meals on smaller plates and bowls. The regular size dinner plate is too big of a plate for anyone to be eating a full meal off of. Use your dinner plates for serving the whole meal instead of just one meal on.These are simple guidelines to help you stay the course when it comes to greening up your weight loss plan. If you know it’s healthy, then stick it in your mouth. If it’s organic, munch away. In time your greener diet goals will come into perspective. Best of luck!
